GROL albumo recenzija – vengrų svetainėje
Vengrų metalo web-zinas „Fémforgács Metal Site“ publikuoja vilniečių GROL albumo „True Stench Never Dies“ recenziją. Mokantys vengriškai gali ją pasiskaityti čia.
Recenzijos autorius teigia, jog vilniečiai išmano savo muziką, kurią jis apibūdina kaip death, gore, punk, crust ir black metalo mišinį, tačiau muzikinės temos albume jam pasirodo kiek primityvokos. Anot jo, GROL nepretenduoja į stiliaus lyderius, tačiau albume jis randa ir keletą tikrai „kabinančių“ gabalų. Reziumuodamas vengras pastebi, jog grupė tikrai nepakeis pasaulio, bet jam patinka keista maniera sujungtos kai kurios klišės ir jų pagalba kuriama absurdiška, beveik „kafkiška“ realybė.

Labai taikliai apibūdintas albumas (lietuviškoje žinioje), tik Crust albume aš jokiu būdu neradau. O anglišką vertimą tuojaus pakramtysiu.

Matyt ferrum redaktoriai vel neatsilaike komercines grupes GROL neissenkamiems turtams, ir gedingai parsidave siems versilinkams, buvo priversti ideti sia naujiena.

Juokdariai. Albumui jau gerokai pasenes, o dar kazkas reziumuoja ir dar skelbia LT portaluose.

Lithuanian Grol was formed in 2002 in Vilnius (their original name was Grinding Gremlin, then they have changed it to GROL de Nocte), and they came out with only one single, with True Stench Never Dies, if we check the track titles it will be obvious that the guys like the gore-porn and grindcore concepts, which can be sensed in the texts and in the formalities. To be honest I got the promo with xeroxed cover, slim boxed CD, and stickered disk, which does not sound well, neither badly, quasi whips according to the genre, and it contains very short and longer melodies equally. Musically it’s somewhere at death metal, gore, punk, crust and black metal. They’ve got the knowledge, but the themes seem to be quite primitive. They’re very experimental on the other hand, but the aberrant sexual prologues and alcohol which used to be fun turns into a comedy. At some points the almost dance music themes reminds me of the more musical and more professional Cadaveric Hunter.
Grol will not be the star of the genre. This team shows a true direction among a pussy, two bottles of beers and vomited dinner. There are a couple of very catchy songs, and some sick noise themes. There are much worse and much better bands, not outstanding ones which play the confident middle class today’s patient death metal, with many infections, that makes all a bit crossover.
I could go on and characterize what the four clowns do, but I do believe this is enough to decide about them. Well, they seriously don’t change the world, but I like how the cliches are connected in that strange manner, that they create an absurd, nearly Kafka-like reality. So sex, beer, grol’n'roll!
