Action: The spring of 2006 was marked by the visit of the exceptional death metal masters from the USA – NILE with the accompanying acts from France and Australia YYRKOON and PSYCROPTIC. Even though the band chose the wrong way to Lithuania via Byelorussia and had some problems of arriving in time, the show did take place. One Lithuanian band D.A.R originally invited for the show as well had to leave the stage for the guests as the time was pressing. After a short introduction by Latvians PRETERNATURAL, the stage was soon occupied by the loud, fast and technical PSYCROPTIC. The French musicians from YYRKOON who followed the Australians became a real surprise for the listeners – they sounded even better than in the recordings and revealed themselves as a talented band mixing different styles of metal from black to thrash and death creatively and able to build a special atmosphere in the club.
Finally, here are the famous and long-waited NILE from South Carolina on the Lithuanian stage. Famous for the original combination of brutal death metal and Middle East motives, the musicians presented their old and new well-known songs, some of them starting from atmospheric and eastern-like melodies, some of them knocking down everyone on the ground by brutal, fast and technical guitar and drum parts. NILE presented a programme of almost one hour and a half, which satisfied even the most ardent admirers of the band, therefore, encores were not even demanded. Despite the rather low number of the audience, the show left an impression of one of the most exceptional and successful concerts organised by Ferrum team during the year.
