Biography:
IR is a Lithuanian/Latvian alternative rock band, based in Vilnius. Formed in 2003 with all Vilnius lineup, IR has stormed young Lithuanian alternative scene, claiming several live music awards, including becoming the best band of "Naujas Kraujas" (New Blood) festival and winning "Euro Rock Vilnius 2004" contest, among others. After the original line-up broke up in 2005, the founding member Germanas Skoris continued the IR drive, joined by two new members to form a revised, international line-up, that consists of Germanas Skoris (native of Vilnius, Lithuania) - vocals, guitars, Josh McClung (native of Brussels, Belgium) – drums, Marat Voronov (native of Riga, Latvia) - basses, chapman stick.

During just three years of its existence the band's music has been compared by fans and local media to about a dozen rock acts, stretching from Placebo and Smashing Pumpkins to Nirvana and Foo Fighters, which only suggests, that I R actually do have an original style of their own. With this in mind, and their own musical influences ranging from Red Hot Chili Peppers to Slipknot, the band members themselves won't go into any deeper definitions, than just "alternative rock", leaving it up to the listeners to figure it out for themselves. "We're just doing music, and we like it" - say the guys - "that's all that matters to us".
