Biography: MERESSIN was found by two brothers Darius and Zydrius Auguliai in 1993. Primarily, the leaders of the band were interested in old wave black metal. The first 8 compositions of the band written in this style were recorded in the first demo tape "Satan, Oro Te, Reo Portas Patere" released in 1995. MERESSIN recorded its next album "The Baphomet's Call" in 1996 already - in this album the band remained faithful to black metal with some influences of heavy, thrash and occult metal. The lyrics of band are about dark visions, philosophy of Satanism, intolerance to Christianity, mysticism, and mythology. The following album "Mask" came out in 1998, and "Alkis" ("Hunger") was presented in 2001, followed by maxi single "Pasiute Sunys" (Wild Dogs").
The biggest gig of MERESSIN was the festival Death Comes 6 together with some bands from Lithuania, Latvia and the star from Sweden THERION. The concert was enjoyed by about 1500 metal heads. Lately not much has been heard from the band, however.
